Next we took notes on bacteria on page 76. If you were not here for the notes, here are the notes. Lastly, we took a look at the differences between viruses and bacteria and looked at the differences and similarities between the two.
bacteria_vs_viruses.docx Warm up - look at the three websites below, make a chart in our warm up showing the benefits and harmful effects of organisms from the Kingdom Protista.

There are questions for amoeba, paramecium, euglena and volvox. These answers go on page 74. Also, make sure you color in the different organelles on your handout. https://www.tes.com/lessons/WEfZ94Tmi2bZVQ/protists While you are working, I will be pulling you to look at the 4 microscope slides around the room. Make microscope drawings of the ameoba, paramecium, euglena and volvox. Make drawings on page 75 in your notebook. Warm up today was a review of cellular respiration and photosynthesis as well as a review of protists. Quiz today covered cell structure and function. Quiz will be on cell structure and function.
We reviewed protists structure today and then worked in groups to explain the importance of protists. Lastly, we did Cornell notes for the characteristics of bacteria on page 75. Here are the notes if you were absent today. We started out class today with a little more practice with the microscopes and microscope drawings on page 74 in our notebooks. Next we reviewed the different characteristics of Kingdoms on page 72 and then jumped into some worked on Protists. We are moving into diseases and infections now and many protists can cause infections. As you are doing your work today you will also color the Protists as well as color in the key. https://www.tes.com/lessons/WEfZ94Tmi2bZVQ/protists https://www.tes.com/lessons/WEfZ94Tmi2bZVQ/protists
We completed JUST the Amoeba section today. Warm up - look at the three websites below, make a chart in our warm up showing the benefits and harmful effects of organisms from the Kingdom Protista. http://www.ck12.org/book/CK-12-Life-Science-Concepts-For-Middle-School/section/6.6/ https://www.biologycorner.com/bio1/parasitic-protists.html http://www.ck12.org/biology/Protists-and-Human-Disease/lesson/Protists-and-Human-Disease-BIO/?referrer=concept_details - read article and watch thee video on the bottom Next we completed the Protist assignment from the blendspace that we started last class. There are questions for amoeba, paramecium, euglena and volvox. These answers go on page 74. Make microscope drawings of the ameoba, paramecium, euglena and volvox. Make drawings on page 75 in your notebook. Next, we created a flip book for photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Noting the products and reactants and the chemical formulas.
We did some practice with microscopes and slide drawings. Finally we finished up with some information on Kingdoms using the following sites: The first thing I want you to do is watch the Brainpop on the SIX KINGDOMS. As you are watching, take notes on each of the kingdoms on page 72 in your notebook. www.brainpop.com/science/diversityoflife/sixkingdoms/ Use the following websites to finish filling in the information on each of the Kingdoms. Make sure you you identfiy the following characteristics for each Kingdom.

Good morning guys. I am at a training this morning, so Ms. Robey agreed to come hang out with you so you didn't have to get dispersed. Be nice to her, she is a good friend!
No warm up this morning and we will continue to practice with the microscopes next class. Ms. Robey will be giving you a legal size paper with three protists on them (amoeba, paramecium, euglena). As you are doing your work today you will also color the Protists as well as color in the key.
